Barre Teacher Training w/ Linda Spolidoro

40-Hour Lexington Power Barre Teacher Training with Linda Spolidoro

Have you been thinking about becoming a certified Barre Teacher? If you’ve experienced a good barre class then you already know that barre has a way of making you feel strong beyond measure, empowered, and let’s be honest, it changes your body in ways that just make you feel more confident. Whether you just want to perfect your alignment while refining the micro-movements of your own personal barre class or you want to share the benefits of barre with others, Lexington Power Barre’s 40-hour Intensive Teacher Training might just be the best decision you’ll make!

This training is the real deal, the curriculum is inspired and directly developed from the Lotte Berk Method of training and broken down into 10 easily digestible modules. You’ll learn proper technique, correct alignment, injury modifications, the ever elusive, (but extremely important) musicality, and why and how the LPB Method delivers results. With the new landscape of online teaching, the LPB training will also teach you how to deliver a solid barre class virtually as well as in person. What makes one online class so much better than another? You’ll receive intensive instruction, group and individual feedback, a detailed manual that you can mark up and refer to whenever needed, and the ability to create a full class structure that you can use to teach your very first barre class.

You’ll get the opportunity to practice your own class before bringing it to the public. Plus, you will ultimately become LPB family and a part of one of the most supportive and empowering communities around.

The training will consist of a combination of virtual and in studio meetings. Trainees who do not feel comfortable and/or cannot come into the studio for any part of the training will be able to join via livestream. The studio space strictly meets and follows all CDC/State Covid19 prevention guidelines.

LPY Master Class: Barre Method For Yoga Sequencing w/ Linda Spolidoro

Is Barre the yang to Yoga’s yin? I had a love/hate relationship with barre the first time I took a class. I’m a yogi after all, and that “do-what-feels-good-rest-when-you-want” attitude inherent to a good yoga practice was replaced with a “stay-in-it-and-let-it-burn” encouragement that made me shake, sweat, and swear under my breath. However, I found that by making barre classes a part of my routine, my yoga practice became stronger, more stable and safer. My knees stopped hurting, my flexibility inexplicably increased, and my high to low push-ups no longer put any strain on my low back. Oh, and my core, forget about it!!! I became ridiculously strong.

I began to incorporate much of what I learned and taught in my barre classes into my yoga classes both in my own practice and as a teacher. What I found was an effective, efficient, and beautiful synchronicity that helped me to move my students through smarter and more functional sequences, while awakening and creating a new kind of muscular strength. While the yoga poses generally target the bigger muscle groups in large ranges of motion, barre targets singular and often forgotten muscles in a sustained, targeted, and much smaller range.

We’ll learn about fast twitch muscles vs slow twitch muscles, why and what that burning sensation is, explore how to modify for injury while still targeting the desired muscle/s, how to add the ‘barre’ while sequencing in a way that keeps the ‘yoga’ and finally how the mindfulness, breathing, and connection to the body in yoga is the perfect compliment to the internal fortitude it takes to get through the barre exercises (and visa versa). The last hour of class will give you the opportunity to try it yourselves as I lead you through a one hour yoga/barre fusion practice.

Barre for Beginners Workshop w/ Adriana

Barre for Beginners with Adri Lopes

Barre for Beginners is a 120- minute workshop that introduces the basic form, alignment, and structure of the traditional movements and exercises you will encounter in a typical LPB class. Expect hands on, individualized attention while moving through even the most daunting barre exercises. Ever wonder what wide second, pretzel, back dancing, or c-curve are, or how they can transform the body and spirit? Come find out.

New students, curious students, and even seasoned veterans will leave feeling confident, determined, and certainly a lot stronger!

Barre was derived by combining Ballet drills with rehabilitative physical therapy, combining isometric strength training, ballet conditioning, pilates and yoga. The goal in barre is to target the muscles with intervals of ballet inspired isometric toning exercises combined with yoga-inspired stretching to lengthen the muscles. The LPB method is designed to build strength, stability, flexibility, and most importantly, longevity.

Barre Benefiting Katie Mazure’s PMC Fundraising with Tayla McNally

BARRE for BENEFIT

Join us on March 24th, 12:30-2pm

Suggested donation: $20 cash/check ONLY

Tayla will be teaching a strong and balanced power barre class to benefit a dear friend's pan mass challenge ride!!

Katie Mazure is excited to announce that she has committed to biking 192 miles this August from Sturbridge to Provincetown for the Pan Mass Challenge. Whether battling it ourselves or watching our loved ones suffer, cancer continues to have a major impact on society.

In 2017 Katie’s family had lost two very loved individuals. She lost her uncle to colon cancer after 12 years of a courageous fight, and lost her aunt to a very short battle of pancreatic cancer. She will be riding in memory of them! Katie is a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. Last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's (DFCI) tireless commitment to finding a cure.

The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, and because every penny matters, 100% of your donation goes to DFCI. Katie feel’s privileged to get to ride this route to honor those no longer with us, and to support those continuing to fight their battle. Every dollar counts, and is appreciated more than you can possibly imagine. Thank you, and we hope you consider taking this donation based class to help Katie get closer to her goal of $5,000!
